Anthony Lavia, 32 (right), and Kasanke James (below left), both of Redemption Sharpes, were arrested and charged with the murder of James on May 11, 2008.

On the other hand, Lavia’s common-law wife Marilyn Wilkins, 42, and James’ pregnant girlfriend Kawana Wilkins, 25, were both charged with aiding and abetting in the murder of Charles.

Police reports state that around 6:30 p.m. on May 11th, Charles was involved in an argument which ended in Charles being chopped several times about his body.

He was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at about 1:30 a.m. the following day.

They were not allowed to plead and were all remanded to Her Majesty’s prison. The matter was transferred to the Serious Offences Court for Monday May 26th for a Preliminary Inquiry date to be set.
